Madras <\/span>The name that takes us back several decades and brings cherished memories back to life. From a city that once had minimal existence surrounding the Fort St. George<\/span>, Madras has now evolved into an ever-busy Chennai<\/span> – a hotspot for business, industry, and technology. Despite this phenomenal transformation, we are still in love with our Margazhi kolams, filter coffee, and Marina Beach<\/span>. We still retain our multicultural fabric – embracing and celebrating people of all walks of life, religion, and color. Aren\u2019t we mighty proud of \u201cNamma Chennai?\u201d<\/span> We sure are! But is that all there is to it?<\/p>\n

As they say \u201cBig things have small beginnings,\u201d<\/span> we at Heritage Inspired were curious to know about the beginnings of Madras. Our quest to find out more about the city took us back to the 15th century Madras<\/span>. How do we get to know a city from so long ago? – Through its earliest buildings, of course. For Chennai, it was the churches built by foreigners \u2013 Jews, Armenians, Portuguese, British and a few others who came looking for prosperity through trade. Our research gradually took shape and we have unearthed a treasure trove of information, which we are delighted to share with you in the form of a well-curated 1-day tour called \u201cMADRAS Nalla MADRAS\u201d<\/span>.<\/p>\n
